Better Late Than Never

Finally the dust (sand?) is settling and I’m actually absorbing the goings-on of the past several weeks, including events of our California vacation that whipped by at lightening speed. In fact, I’m just now viewing all of the fantabulous photos we snapped and can’t believe NOT A SINGLE ONE HAS BEEN UPLOADED TO THE INTERNET. So here we go with the first image (one of my faves) and more via Flickr photo album soon:

Home Sweet Home

Well… we made it back home, but not without a few hitches along the way. First, Hub’s suitcase detoured to Rapid City, SD instead of following the rest of our luggage. Straggler. Second, as a result of our lateness in leaving the airport, we were too late in rescuing Smokie from her posh Pet Hotel, meaning she was forced to stay yet another night partying it up with her feline diva friends. Otherwise all went extremely smooth, and we’re happily shaking off the sand that hitched a ride home in our duds. Seashells, souvenirs, memories, and all.

Another childhood dream fulfilled. *yay!* 😀 (The adults thought it was pretty dreamy, too.)

Ketchup Day

From the very minute of awakening from my deep slumber this morning, today was all about catching up. What better than to blog a simple list for wrapping this whole day up nicely? Alrighty! So here’s my Caught-Up-With-Life list:

  • Sleep. Yes, I actually slept in until almost 8 am – a record!
  • Dishes. All those dirty dishes in/on/around the sink & dishwasher – spotless!
  • Laundry. Soiled clothes dumped out of our suitcases – clean, ironed and put away!
  • Checkbook. Bills paid with books balanced!
  • Email. Completely caught up with clients, family, friends and instrument teachers!
  • Reading. Updated online book lists and sorted current & future reads for sanity purposes!

The icing on the cake? Kicking back and listening to the fabulous CD given to us by Catholic Girlie’s private cello teacher, the same one in which he recorded with the London Cello Orchestra: Latin Cello.

Home Sweet Home

Once again, we made it back home from our glorified Great Wolf Lodge vacation in record time without a single bathroom pit-stop along the way. The mini-vaca lasted just long enough for us to miss being in the comfort of our own digs and sleeping in a familiar place rather than in a room that resembled a humongous Wolf Den. As much as we enjoyed all of those exhilarating water slides and casually floating around on inner-tubes, home is that nifty welcome-feeling place to return to after being caught up in so much excitement.

*ahh* It even smells good – who cleans this place?

Today, the day after our return, it was back to tennis lessons (the last one for the summer), home cooked meals, swimming at the local pool, and me reclaiming my own personal space for catching up with business clients again. The downer? Heaping piles of chlorinated laundry:

Saved by the Wolf

Well, we managed to leave town without the cat, if you can believe it after that whole luggage incident. Although, she did manage to give her best effort at tagging along as noted by the previous post. And so far, it has been the best-summer-vacation-experience-ever for everyone except ME, the designated Activity Blogger who has been riddled with internet connectivity issues ever since we arrived. All I know is that if it weren’t for Wiley’s unexpected Cookies-&-Milk surprise encounter this evening, all might’ve been lost on me. OK, sort of.

Stowaway Attempt

Our cat is no fool. The minute those suitcases find their way out of storage, she’s all:

Alright folks, the gig is so up with you people. Where you off to this time? And does this mean another swanky visit to the PetsHotel for good ‘ole Smokie? Because my Furry Peeps and I are overdue for a Cat’s Night Out, you know. In the meantime, I’ll be making myself comfortable right here, thanksverymuch.

Summer Almost Here

With all that ‘freakish’ stuff going on in the Catholic Household, things are actually gearing up toward SUMMER BREAK. That’s right. So I’ve been registering my people for all kinds of activities, during which time I’ll either be watching from the sidelines or reading a book in the car. Yay team! The best part is that we’ve renewed our pool membership and will enjoy daily trips to the pseudo-beach for swimming/tanning purposes. Even bigger YAY TEAM!!!

So that’s what’s happening behind the scenes. Meanwhile, off to another Neflix DVD with Catholic Hubs.
