Return of the Rampant Germs

Who said sending kids back to school was a happy, fun time? Because, let me tell you, those people completely forgot about certain germs involved in the whole process. Even with our stellar hand-washing habits, said germs gave poor ‘ole Mom a big huge sucker punch this week leaving me housebound and squirting Afrin up my nose every 12 hours. This is not what I was expecting so early in the school year. Bah.

Caution: Sanity at Stake

Now why in the world would my sanity be at stake? Three words:

SCHOOL’S OUT AGAIN

While I simply adore the Catholic youngsters with whom Catholic Hubs and I share the same living space, let’s face it, I was really getting comfortable with the whole consulting-in-a-quiet-house-all-day routine, free from having to pick up Legos, Webkinz, books, electronics, dirty socks, and other miscellaneous items strewn all over the place. I mean, life’s been extremely good, thanks to school restarting and all. So yes, I admit that I’ve been just plain spoiled from August 13th until today. So why mess with a good thing, right?

Well because basically, the Catholic Kids will be enjoying a 5 day weekend for what amounts to 45 total minutes of conferencing between said parents & teachers. And who exactly is spoiled now? While I do realize the large number of parents who need to schedule meeting times with teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences week, that particular reality doesn’t make me any more thrilled about the 5 day weekend situation.

Praise God!Only, wait… behold, I see the heavens opened up while remembering something called:

SLEEPING IN

Hallelujah, Hallelujah. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
